2008
Twin TiersPre-Season Football Analysis
by Big Jim Hawbaker
Every year at this time in August, the whole
Hawbaker clan gets excited about football season, especially the high school scene in the Twin Tiers Region.
Yes,
we love the NFL and college football, but varsity programs from the local towns really get our attention. And this year of
2008, several Hawbaker boys are on top of it all, from youth programs to the Big 30 to college ball to the Bills and Steelers.
The
big stories this year are the Raabe All-Star Game that witnessed the Pennsy Boys whipping New York 27-0, the Times Herald
coverage of the teams, and which teams will excel on the gridiron over the next 2-3 months???
In
2007 Big 30 Football, the big news centered around the teams of Kane (14-1), Bolivar-Richburg (11-1), Cameron County (11-2),
and Randolph (8-3), as well as Portville (8-2) and Bradford High (8-3).
Who will it be in 2008?
We
here at Hawbaker Central are very thankful to the Olean Times Herald for their in-depth stories on all the teams from the
Big 30 and beyond. We are also looking forward to their annual Football Edition, which is the best of its kind. We are also
appreciative of the Bradford Era and those editors and reporters...especially for what we do on this website.
The
Hawbaker boys, Harley, Buford, Jeremiah, and Jedediah, have been providing me with tons of information. I am truly delighted
and thankful. Hopefully, we will be able to keep up with the games and stay informed about all the players, teams, coaches,
and etc.
Our goal is to keep y'all informed, inspired, and entertained with Twin Tiers Football stuff.
Stay tuned.
