A message from PCS teacher, Christina Matz:

As many of you know I am going to be competing in the rock and roll virginia beach half marathon on August 31st. I sent many of you the website on the race yesterday...if you did not receive it here it is again and check it out.

The entry fee for my race and any other money raised goes to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society ...you can find out more about this on the website too.

I am actually going to be wearing a t-shirt for Team Groove during my race.(http://www.mikemcgreevymemorialfund.org/groove.php ) I would like to encourage all of you donate to the Mike McGreevy Scholarship Fund. Mike graduated from Portville Central School where I teach.
Mike was killed in action on June 28, 2005 in Afghanistan while he and seven other SEALS were attempting to rescue four fellow teammates under enemy fire on the ground. This fund is established to ensure that Mike and the traits that he stood for are remembered and honored in future generations. Mike McGreevy made a remarkable, positive impact on the world and the creators of this fund wish to assist individuals in living their lives with the same integrity that he did .
The purpose of the Mike McGreevy Memorial Scholarship Fund is to award an annual merit-based scholarship to two eligible recipients who exemplify Mike's positive spirit and dedication to serving others .
I was so honored when his wife Laura, emailed me and gave me the opportunity to wear a team groove t-shirt for my race.
