October 10, 2010 - New Power Center
Section 6 has won 8 of the last 10 New York high school football championships (2008 and 2009), and the Southern Tier has captured half of that total, thanks to Southwestern, Maple Grove, Randolph, and Hornell.

In addition, another southern Buffalo team, Orchard Park, won AA in 2008, turning this region of the state into the current powerhouse.

Section 6's Class A team Sweet Home (north of Buffalo) has been the state champ for the last two years, as have the Southwestern boys in Class C.

Schools in the the Chautauqua Lake area have won 9 state titles:

Jamestown  3   1994, 1995, 2000
Maple Grove  2   1998, 2008
Randolph  2   2005, 2009
Southwestern  2   2008, 2009

Sweet Home, Southwestern, and Randolph are ranked #1 in their respective A, C and D classes for 2010, so we will see what shakes out soon.
